LONDON — Manchester City trio David Silva, Sergio Aguero and Joe Hart are among the six nominees for the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award.

Scott Parker of Tottenham, Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie of Arsenal fill the shortlist.

Aguero is competing with Gareth Bale, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Daniel Sturridge, Kyle Walker and Danny Welbeck for the Young Players’ prize. The winner will be announced at the PFA’s annual awards on Sunday evening.

Aguero, Hart and Silva have been instrumental in City’s challenge for the Premier League title this season.

Aguero has scored 28 goals in his first season in English football since signing from Atletico Madrid. Spanish playmaker Silva has scored six and set up 13 league goals for City, while Hart has earned 14 clean sheets as part of a City defence which has conceded fewer goals – 27 – than any other team this season.
