Mines and Mining Development ministry has ordered close to 500 exclusive prospective orders (EPO) bidders to make fresh applications within 30 days detailing their shareholding structure.

The affected 469 mines are dotted countrywide. It is hereby notified that the Minister of Mines and Mining Development in terms of the Mines and Minerals Act Chapter 21:05, EPO applicants to resubmit for consideration their proposed work programmes and proof of funding and technical capacity to carry out exploration in the areas applied for, reads the notice.

It added that all applicants should be accompanied by full details of directors and shareholders of the company.

According to list of affected mines, Zambezi Gold intends to prospect on 34 sites, while Mhandamabwe Miners and Explorien Mining and Ultimate Exploration and Mining have 32 and 27 sites respectively.
