Harare-based reggae group Legendary Sounds is expected to rock Bulawayo tonight with a show at Jockey and Saddle in Ascot.

The show marks the first time that the Red Fox resident outfit plays in Bulawayo.

Organiser of the show Tinashe Kanda yesterday said they were trying to make a difference to the Bulawayo showbiz scene.

“Bulawayo has been saturated with South African DJs who play similar tunes but, to be honest, people want variety lest they become fed up with the same old stuff,” said Kanda.

He said the move was also aimed at catering for the reggae lovers in that city who are often left out as show organisers mainly concentrate on Harare.

Legendary Sounds and Judgment Yard became popular with bashes at Red Fox Hotel and at Mereki on Sunday afternoons.

The consistency of their shows has made them household names on the local dancehall scene. They have popularised their show venues that are often affectionately called “kumaRasta”.
