Zimbabwe found the going tough at the World Team Table Tennis Championships, which came to an end in Dortmund, Germany, on Sunday after losing all their matches en route to finishing bottom of their log.

The national table tennis team was making its third appearance at the world tournament after taking part in 1983 in Tokyo, Japan and then again in 1985 Gothenburg, Sweden. The long absence from the tournament seemed to have taken its toll on the current team as they finished bottom in Group Q on six points. Zimbabwe were in the same group as Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Namibia, Guernsey and Turkmenistan.

The three-member team consisting of Brian Chamboko, Tinashe Chikaka and Takudzwa Mudonhi opened their campaign with a 3-0 loss to Turkmenistan in the opening round on March 25.
