KADOMA — A man who was snooping on a female neighbour as she took a shower could not contain his sexual urge and stormed into the bathroom in which the puzzled woman stood stark naked.

The 26-year-old man, Warren Phiri of Martin Spur compound in Kadoma, was last week dragged to court facing charges under section 95 of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act chapter 9:23.

The court heard that on March 19 this year at around 3pm, the accused, who is a neighbour to the complainant, Melody Gunda (26), was peeping into the bathroom in which the complainant was taking a bath. Oblivious that she was being watched, Gunda was shocked when an intruder whom she later identified as her neighbour, Phiri, stormed into the bathroom.

According to State papers, complainant asked the accused what he was up to and Phiri threatened her with physical harm if she raised alarm.

He allegedly left the room following the threats. The complainant reported the matter to the police leading to Phiri’s arrest.

Phiri was remanded out of custody to April 5. Magistrate Takawira Mugabe presided over the matter while Reginald Chavora prosecuted
