The Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) led by Welshman Ncube yesterday launched an information and media centre at its Bulawayo offices.
Party officials said more would be opened at all its provincial and district offices around the country.
MDC spokesperson Nhlanhla Dube said the centre — the first of its kind in the country for any political party — would allow the party to “access and inform fellow citizens”.
Dube said the centre, based on wireless technology, will provide accessible Internet services to all its members, students and researchers. He said the centre will bridge the information gap “in a country where decades of unfair and unjust laws have curtailed media freedom, media access and diversity of news”.
