The Nestl Healthy Kids Physical Education and Athletics competition reaches its climax with the two-day national finals to be held at the National Sports Stadium starting today.

Provincial winners from across the country converge at the giant sporting facility where the national champion will be crowned.

The finals have been divided into a two-day event with athletics finals taking place today while physical education finals will be staged tomorrow.

The organisers said the winning province in both athletics and physical education will walk away with $5 000 prize money and a floating trophy, while the first runner-up will get $3 000.

The second runners-up will get $2 000.Hosts Harare Province will be represented at the finals by Mabelreign-Warren Park district in athletics while Mbare-Hatfield district will compete in physical education.

Mashonaland Central Province will be represented in athletics by Mt Darwin district and Mashonaland West will send Hurungwe East and Mhondoro Ngezi to the two events.

Murehwa district will represent Mash East in athletics and Gumbodzvanda Primary School of Wedza will battle it out for physical education honours.

Chivi district emerged winners in Masvingo Province in athletics while Masvingo CBD will represent the province in physical education. Manicaland Province will send Chipinge district and Mutare for athletics and physical education to the finals respectively.

Gokwe North will represent Midlands Province in both athletics and physical education events. Mzilikazi and Reigate districts came out tops in Bulawayo.

Umzingwane will represent Matabeleland South in both athletics and physical education while Matabeleland North will be represented by Bubi and Lupane.

The company is bankrolling the tournament to the tune of $80 000.
