Comedy lovers are in for a treat tomorrow when local comedians converge at Red Bar in Newlands for the Bang Bang Comedy Club.

The second edition of the monthly event will feature hilarious comedians that include Michael “Michael K” Kudakwashe, Nqobizita “Q The Boss” Siziba , Farai “Comrade Fatso” Monro and Victor “Doc Vikela” Mpofu. The host for the night will be Simbarashe “Simba The Comic King” Kakora.

The inaugural edition was attended by nearly 200 comedy followers and organisers said they expect a higher attendance tomorrow.

“The launch of Bang Bang was fantastic last month and was really well-attended” said event organiser Comrade Fatso “People are obviously eager to laugh their lungs out and we are bringing more energy and humour this month.

“Bang Bang also aims to feature different forms of comedy including comedy screenings, cheeky music and live skits.”

Tomorrow’s event will kick off with a screening of The Ice Cream Man, a comedy skit by Outspoken and Comrade Fatso. When the comedy show ends, local DJs will take over and lead an after-party that will run until late.

Comrade Fatso said his organisation, Magamba, will ensure that Bang Bang becomes Harare’s leading comedy night.

He is apparently banking on the experience of his performers who have been outstanding in numerous comedy events.

Michael K has spiced his comedy experience with film and theatre roles and many remember him from his hilarious jokes that made his combination with Victor Mavedzenge popular when they used to stage shows at The Mannenberg .

He has also taken part in productions at Theatre in the Park and various short films.

Doc Vikela and Simba The Comic have staged a number of exciting shows while Comrade Fatso is well-known for his expertise in protest music and comedy.
