CBZ Holdings Limited group chief executive officer Nyasha Makuvise has resigned from his post due to poor health.

Makuvise, whose last working day will be March 31, 2012, has been with the diversified financial group for the past 16 years.

He will be replaced at the helm of the institution by CBZ Bank chief executive officer John Mangudya from April 1.

Speaking at the group’s financial results in Harare yesterday, CBZ chairperson Luxon Zembe said one of the reasons why Makuvise was resigning was as a result of “health challenges” he had been going through.

Zembe, who said the CBZ board had accepted the resignation, said: “We were not happy with the decision, but gradually we accepted. He has left a good successor, after serving the company for 16 years.”

Mangudya has in the past acted as group chief executive officer in the absence of Makuvise.
