ANFIELD — Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has told the club he wants to stay at Anfield.

Suarez (25) served an eight-match ban for racially abusing Manchester United’s Patrice Evra this season and has reportedly been the subject of interest from Paris St Germain.

The Uruguay international told the club website: “There are a good few years left on my contract.” Luis Suarez has won more fouls, 28, in the final third of the field than any other player in the Premier League this season.

“I want to carry on enjoying myself because both my family and I feel really happy here.”

Suarez joined Liverpool from Ajax in January 2011, signing a five-and-a-half-year deal, and has since scored 15 goals in 42 appearances for the Reds.

“I have spoken with people at the club,” he added. “They know that I want to stay and that I am enjoying myself and am very happy here.” —BBC Sport
