A Matobo villager who was convicted for having an adulterous affair with a South Africa-based Zimbabwean’s wife seven years ago has pleaded with Chief Malaki Masuku’s traditional court to be patient with him as he was still raising the money required to buy the beast he was ordered to pay as fine.

Phibion Moyo told the court he was unemployed, hence his failure to pay the fine within the prescribed period.

Moyo told the court he did not even own a pet. “Why are you not paying? Do you have cattle, donkeys, goats, dogs, what about a cat?” asked Chief Masuku.

But Moyo said he did not own any animal, including a pet.

However, the court ordered Moyo to bring the beast to court on April 15.

Chief Masuku also ordered him to bring along his kraal-head and father.
