Two Matabeleland Busters players Lawrence Cleminson and Johan De Klerk will leave for South Africa at the end of the week for a one-year attachment at Blue Bulls Tuks Rugby Academy in Pretoria.

Cleminson and De Klerk were part of the Matabeleland Under-20 rugby team that toured Durban last month and played three matches against Varsity College Boys, Amanzimtoti and Harlequins. Manager of the squad Sean Robinson yesterday confirmed the two props would soon be joining the Blue Bulls and their parents, would be paying for their expenses at the academy.

If they impress the Blue Bulls, their fees will be partly catered for by the University of Pretoria for the second year and a full bursary could be granted for the third year based on their performance.

Robinson said the two boys were first accepted by the Sharks Academy for next year but then Blue Bulls’ coach Neels Grobler approached the Sharks for the boys to enrol with the academy in Pretoria.
