The Zimbabwe Institute of Management (ZIM) will hold its annual Regional Manager of the Year awards in Bulawayo on March 29.

The Manager of the Year awards — ZIM’s most prestigious awards — are held as a way of recognising, developing and promoting management and leadership excellence at all management levels.

In an interview yesterday, ZIM regional manager Felistas Sakone said this year’s event was being held at a time when the organisation was commemorating 55 years of existence.

“This year, as we commemorate 55 years of offering and promoting management excellence, the institute also hosts a historic Manager of The Year Awards,” she said.

“Over 400 top business executives are expected to attend the event that will start the institute’s 55-year anniversary celebrations.”

Categories for the awards include the Private Sector Manager of the Year, Public Service Manager of the Year, and Small-to-Medium-size Manager of the year, Young Manager of the Year, and National Contribution and Customer Service Excellence.

“The awards which we are hosting this month are for the southern region, which includes Bulawayo, Matabeleland South, Matabeleland North, Midlands and Masvingo,” Sakone said.
