Riding on the fame of his hit song Gochi Gochi Jah Prayzah has decided to show art followers his other side through taking part in an upcoming comedy titled Bhegi Remhosva.

Born Mukudzei Mukombe, Prayzah will be taking up his first acting role in the production by his former manager Loyd Kurima aka “Mabla 10”.

In an interview with NewsDay, Prayzah said the move was just temporary since he had no intentions to venture into full-time acting.

“Of course there is influence from Mabla 10 as my former manager and Freddy ‘Kapfupi’ Manjalima who is my friend, but I am still concentrating on music,” said Prayzah.

“I will not be featuring as a musician, but as a cheated boyfriend while my tracks will be used as background and theme music.”

Speaking in a separate interview, Mabla 10 said they had already finished shooting and were now working on the final production stages.

The comedian who also features as the main protagonist said the main themes of the play would be wide-ranging but everything was inspired by the actors’ and writer’s social experiences.

“The major theme of the play revolves around female rapists. It is something that is unthinkable, but it is happening and that is what we are trying to expose,” said Mabla 10.

“There are abnormal things happening in our societies. Some of them will not be known to the public until we speak out.”

He said by engaging Jah Prayzah he sought to popularise the production which is normal whenever a well-known person features in a cast.

“If all goes well, I am actually intending to bring (sungura musician Alick) Macheso onto one of my future productions. You never know with our diverse arts industry, this might be the beginning of new things,” said Mabla 10.

The comedian is famous for his productions that appeared on local television which include Bhegi Remhosva 1 in 2009 and Vamwe Vanhu in 2010.
