Harry Allen Amateur golfer Kwangwari Kwangwari had a good day on the greens on Saturday winning the Horizon Pub and Restaurant golf-sponsored tournament at Harry Allen Golf Club.

Kwangwari got 38 points to win the individual Stableford tournament which attracted 43 amateur golfers and three professionals.

He received a Horizon Pub and Restaurant $60 voucher and a platinum membership worth $400 for a year.

Gweru Golf Club golfer Henry Makura was second after he counted out Lawrence Maphosa after both golfers collected 37 points.

Makura got a gold membership and $40 voucher while Maphosa got the same and a $20 voucher.

The professionals who featured in the competition include Brian Gondo who amassed 39 points as well as Matthew Ncube who accumulated the same number of points.

Peter Banda, another professional had 38 points. Gondo received platinum membership, a $60 voucher and $400 membership for a year.

Ncube and Banda received gold membership, $60 vouchers and $150 membership for a year. Ncube also received $25 for getting the longest drive on hole number two.

The nearest to pin on hole number four went to Simon Moyo while club captain Mufaro Chivonivoni won the nearest to pin on hole number 7. Kwangwari got the nearest to pin on hole number 12 while Shepherd Huni got the nearest to pin on hole number 17.

The golfer who had two clubs on hole number four was Moses Nzapu. Tawu Paguwa, Ncube and Clifford Chimhini had two clubs on hole number seven.

Golfers who participated in the tournament include Vincent Zibomvu, Augustine Khoza, football legend Ebson “Sugar” Muguyo, Harry Allen public relations manager Moses Mlalazi, Brian Sanangurai and Zondi Kumwenda.

Lorraine Huwa and Margaret Vera were the women golfers who featured in the competition.
