Highlanders head coach Kelvin Kaindu says every player who is attending training will be given a chance to showcase their skill as Bosso host Shabanie Mine in a friendly football match at Luveve Stadium tomorrow.

Kaindu yesterday said things were shaping up in the training camp and he would soon be naming his final squad for the 2012 Castle Lager Premiership season.

The Zambian national said he was taking tomorrow’s friendly match seriously.

“Every game that you play is important especially as you prepare for the season and try to see all the players in a game situation. Everyone who is practising will be given a chance to play. We will be coming up with the final team soon. I don’t have an exact date, but we will soon be done,” Kaindu said. The former Highlanders player, who was an assistant coach at Zambian side Zanaco, has previously said his main aim is to bring back Bosso to their glory days and win all the silverware this season.

Former Platinum FC midfielder Mthulisi Maphosa, who has been training with Highlanders, is likely to be the spine of the midfield if Bosso sign him. Maphosa played for Highlanders last weekend when they travelled to Kwekwe and beat Zifa Central Division One side Chrome Stars in two matches on Sunday.

Former Hwange captain Gerald Ndlovu was also part of that team. Highlanders have retained defence stalwart Innocent Mapuranga, Lawson Nkomo, Simon Munawa, Eric Mudzingwa, Graham Ncube, Bruce Kangwa, Knox Mutizwa and goalkeeper Ariel Sibanda.

Other new players that have been training with Bosso include Milton Ncube and juniors Arnold Ndiweni and Mgcini Sibanda. Njabulo “Tshiki” Ncube might be bouncing back to the Bulawayo football giants after leaving them last year for Premiership newcomers Quelaton. Ncube, who left after banging in five goals for Bosso, trained with Highlanders during the week.

Shabanie Mine coach Luke Masomere said the Zvishavane team would soon be announcing their squad for 2012. The former asbestos miners narrowly survived relegation from the Premiership last season and Masomere yesterday said he would bring a full-strength squad to Bulawayo tomorrow.

“We have drafted in new boys into the team but I am not at liberty to mention any names at the moment, but I can only say that I am coming to Bulawayo with my full squad. The season is on in about two weeks and there is no time to waste,” Masomere said.

Former Masvingo United star players Pevington Zimunya and Isaac Chapura are both at Shabanie Mine, who have also been training with Phiri and Simon Choenda from Blue Ribbon and Blessed Mbavaira from Zim Alloys.

Meanwhile, Chicken Inn will play Chapungu at Gifford High School today and travel to Mucheke Stadium tomorrow where they take on Masvingo United. Premiership debutants Quelaton clash with Ntabazinduna at Fairbridge tomorrow.
