Following three years of silence, gospel musician Olivia Charamba said she was working on a new album which she said will be on the market anytime soon.

Mai Charamba, as she is fondly known, said it had been the norm for her to take time to release her follow-up albums so that she gives the previous project ample time on the market.

“I am working on something which will be soon unveiled. It has been the trend with my projects that I take time before new releases,” said Mai Charamba.

The Chidhoma Chiiko hit-maker said she was taking time polishing up the album to produce music that is acceptable to her fans in terms of quality.

“My previous albums have been well- received because I took time to finish them and likewise with this one I am working to finish it so that when it is released people will be happy,” she said.

Mai Charamba thanked her husband, Pastor Charles Charamba, for being supportive of her projects and said without him she could not have been successful.

“Baba Charamba has been very supportive of my projects and that is why I have been doing well in the music industry and as usual he will be a backing vocalist and producer for the album,” said Olivia.Mai Charamba’s last album, The Gospel, was last released in 2009 and has been well-received on local charts and abroad.

She said if all went well she would make a video for the upcoming album like she did with the previous one. The couple recently received a National Arts Merit Award in the Outstanding Song category for the song Nyika Zimbabwe.
