Gospel musician Pastor Herman Chimusoro is set to break his two-year silence on the local musical scene with a launch of his eighth album on Friday.

Titled Live in Worship, the nine-track album will be launched at Crowne Plaza where other musicians who include Victor Kunonga, Edith WeUtonga, Celebration choir and the Police Band are billed to perform.

Chimusoro and his Line Crosser band will also perform.

The dreadlocked musician, who is also director of Crossline Music and Video, said the album is a fusion of reggae, traditional and contemporary Christian tunes.

He said he would be presenting the album as a gift to his fans.

“The album is a great gift to my music fans and they should expect something bigger and better,” said Chimusoro.

“I have been quiet for some time because I wanted to take my time to prepare something really nice for my fans.”

Chimusoro’s previous albums include Crossing the Line, Worship Practice, Diziro Rangu, Reggae Praise 1, Reggae Praise 2, Reggae Praise 3 and a DVD album entitled Live in Kenya.

He has held various shows in Ohio State in cities that include Cincinnati, Columbus and Cleveland and has also toured countries that include the United Kingdom, Belgium, Kenya, Barbados, Tanzania and Canada.

When he took a break from recording and live performances, Chimusoro worked with a number of upcoming artists assisting in recording and live performances.

About the launch Chimusoro said: “It will be an exciting evening. The artists will perform before invited guests from all walks of life. The album goes on the market after the launch.”

Songs from the new album include Ndinomutenda, Tamba Iwe, This is the Day, Mighty God and Nyasha Dzenyu.
