Moses Mzapu clinched the Horizon Pub and Restaurant-sponsored amateur golf tournament at Harry Allen golf club on Saturday.

Mzapu had a good day in the greens and got 41 points to win the individual Stableford competition which attracted a total of 43 golfers from the club. He was awarded a dinner voucher valued at $150 and one-year membership at Horizon. Local football legend Ebson Sugar Muguyo claimed second position after he collected 41 points. Muguyo got a meal voucher and full membership at Horizon. Wilfred Chinemberi and Harry Allen public relations manager Moses Mlalazi were tied at 38 points.

Chinembiri counted out Mlalazi to claim third position. The golfers received lunch vouchers and full membership courtesy of the sponsors. Harry Allen Golf Club captain Mufaro Chivonivoni was happy with the way the tournament progressed and was also impressed with the turnout from golfers.

We are happy because the competition was very well attended. It was a trial run as there is another bigger competition that they will be sponsoring. We appreciate the support Horizon has given us, he said. Golfers like Winston Mutasa, Rodgers Kamamba, Victor Tall, Aleck Khoza, Simon Moyo, Lawrence Maphosa and women golfer Lorraine Huwa participated in the competition.
