KADOMA A Kadoma taxi driver was last Friday allegedly robbed of his car and cash and left stranded in the dead of the night along the Eiffel Flats road. Police confirmed the incident and identified the victim as Victor Gayihayi (30).

Mashonaland West deputy police provincial spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Ian Kohwera, said on February 17 at around 10pm at Mzansi Night Club in Kadoma, Gayihayi was approached by an unidentified man who hired him to Eiffel Flats.

Along the way, the suspect ordered the driver to stop as he had arrived at his destination.

The accused alighted from the front passenger seat, Kohwera said.

As the driver was counting the money, the man got out and opened the rear door to remove his cardboard box from where he pulled out a pistol and pointed it at the complainant.

The complainant was ordered to surrender all the cash before being told to get out of the car.

Police said the suspect was still at large and the taxi had not been recovered.
