One of the top 10 advertising agencies in the world, Jupiter Drawing Room South Africa in partnership with a local company Jericho Advertising yesterday launched Jupiter Drawing Room Zimbabwe.

Speaking at the event, Jupiter Drawing Room founder Graham Warsop said this was a vote of confidence in Zimbabwe and its potential to be a force to be reckoned with in creative advertising.

Jericho Advertising will have a 70% shareholding, while Jupiter Drawing Room South Africa will retain 30%.

Warsop said the launch of the new agency follows months of intense negotiations and due diligence exercise between the two companies.

Jupiter Drawing Room South Africa, from its offices in South Africa, has managed to send shockwaves across the world through its innovative thinking, superiority in strategic thinking and world beating creative ideas, he said.

The Jupiter Drawing Room foray into Zimbabwe becomes the first time the worldrenowned agency has set up an office outside of its home territory of South Africa.

Jericho chief executive officer Denford Magora said the partnership with Jupiter Drawing Room South Africa was a confidence booster for the country. We could not have found a more creative and like-minded partner, Magora said.

We are indeed pleased and sure this new agency will raise the bar in terms of creativity and strategic thinking in our industry.

Warsop said Jupiter Drawing Room South Africa was ranked the fourth best-performing agency in the world.

It was voted the joint advertising agency of the decade for the period 2000 to 2010 by leading South Africa business magazine, Finweek.
