KADOMA — A 32-year-old primary school teacher was last Tuesday arrested for allegedly sodomising an 11-year-old school boy and is now facing charges of aggravated indecent assault.

The accused, Jeremiah Marauka of Chingova Farm in Sanyati, is a teacher at Moyomusande Primary School.

Police said Marauka would on various occasions call the pupil to his house where he purportedly assigned him manual tasks between October last year and February 14.

Mashonaland West provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Clemence Mabgweazara, said the teacher would on a daily basis during break and lunchtime sodomise the boy and “reward” him with satchets of powdered juice and sadza.

As a result of incessant abuse, the boy suffered diarrhoea, stomach ache and back pains.

“The matter came to light on February 14 when the accused was caught red-handed by a colleague while sodomising the boy at lunchtime in his room,” said Mabgweazara. This led to the teacher’s arrest.
