Seven MDC-T youth assembly members who were arrested together with 20 others over the murder of police inspector, Petros Mutedza in Glen View, Harare last year, have been released on bail by the Supreme Court after languishing in remand prison for close to a year.

Their lawyer Charles Kwaramba confirmed the release on bail, saying six of them were granted $500 bail each and Tungamirai Madzokere $1 000.

The six are Lazarus and Stanford Maengahama, Phineas Nhatarikwa, Stanford Mangwiro, Yvonne Musarurwa and Rebecca Mafikeni.

Deputy Chief Judge, Justice Luke Malaba granted the bail.

However, MDC-T youth assembly president Solomon Madzore and two other members, Jefias Moyo and Paul Rukanda are still behind bars.
