On-and-off four-piece band, Soul Survivorz, have resurfaced after a five-year break with a relaunch track titled Be My Valentine dedicated for love birds on Valentine’s Day.

Soul Survivorz, a youthful band consisting of Lazarus Koriya, Prince Nkomo, Sha Mukimi and Evans Rondero, said they were happy to be back with the love-filled track which they hoped would steal a lot of people’s hearts.

The track is a mixture of soul and R&B genres, a song proposing love which celebrates genuine union between a man and woman. It is an expression of undying love from a man to the woman he truly loves.

“The song encourages couples and those who believe in love to join in celebrating love on Valentine’s day. The celebration and affection should not end on the day, but continue,” said the band spokesperson Koriya.

He said Be My Valentine was a dedication to everyone in love and it was their way of engaging with the public after a very long time.

The group was formed in 2004 with focus on singing love songs and their breakthrough came in 2006 when they released the album Chivaraidzo whose title track was well received by the public.

“I personally wrote the song. In the near future we plan to perform it and other love songs at weddings, anniversaries and even in hotels,” he said.

Koriya said although they were currently concentrating on marketing, the track they were also working on their latest come-back album titled Rangarira which would be released soon He said it was an honour that one of the band members, Mukimi, was the group’s producer as well and they were working from Vantage Studios.

“People can look out for a lot of surprises from the Soul Survivors because this time we are back for good and through our music we will certainly keep the spirit of love flowing,” said Koriya.
