Enock Nox Gunis latest single Ndinonyara could be the next urban grooves hit if its fast pace up local music charts is anything to go by.

The song has occupied pole position on Power FMs Top 10 charts for almost more than a week, having entered the log at the bottom less than a fortnight ago.

But like many other artists who cannot predict hits in the studio, Guni said he did not take Ndinonyara as a serious song until his producer urged him to record it.

I composed the track just for fun and never thought I could seriously record it until I sang it to my late producer Siphosenkosi TBA Mukhuhlani who said it was a good song, said Guni.

Guni said at some point he actually thought TBA was being sarcastic about it because he had never done any song using such comic lyrics.

We did the song and released it via the Internet and the response was so amazing because in its first week it got over 5 000 downloads, said Guni.

The song is an amazing comical tune about a boy who loves a girl and expresses himself in crazy ways. The guy is so shy he runs out of words when he meets the girl.

He tells funny stories about weather conditions that prevail in his rural home in Zaka where he comes from and how long it takes to get there by bus.

This track is definitely going to be part of my upcoming seventh album that I have decided to title Ice n Roses which will be released later this year, said Guni.

He said the single was produced by Rusell Russo Chiradza at This Is Records, in Johanesburg and by DJ Simmz at Bantu Beat Records and it was mixed, arranged and mastered by the late TBA.

Guni said when he recently went on a UK tour Ndinonyara was the most popular song at shows and fans would request he played it several times.

I have never received such feedback on any of my songs and I just hope this one will bring me some awards. I shot its video in UK and will be shown very soon on ZTV and Chanel O, he said.
