BINGA A 32-year-old man from Lusulu area who was brought to court for allegedly assaulting his wife following a dispute over house chores told the court last Friday he resorted to violence after his wife had grabbed his manhood.
Khethani Nkomazana pleaded not guilty to a charge of domestic violence when he appeared before Binga resident magistrate, Stephen Ndlovu.
The magistrate remanded him out of custody to March 8 for continuation of trial.
The court heard that on January 28 this year, Nkomozanas wife, Sikana Ben (18) asked for permission from her husband to go and collect vegetables at their garden.
Nkomazana allegedly refused, but instead instructed her to go and weed the fields.
The two could not agree on the issue. Nkomazana allegedly struck her with a stick, inflicting injuries all over.
The wife immediately rushed to the police, leading to Nkomazanas arrest.
When asked why he assaulted his wife, Nkomazana denied the allegations, but claimed he was the one who suffered after his wife grabbed his manhood during a domestic quarrel.
