Chief Chiweshe of Mazowe in Mashonaland Central has reportedly invaded Hayshott Farm, the countrys second largest exporter of flowers.

When NewsDay visited the farm yesterday, Chief Chiweshe and his aides were preparing dinner at the entrance of the farm while the farm owner, only identified as John Sole, described his relations with the invaders as cordial.

Farm workers went about their normal chores uninterrupted.

The Chiefs aide said they occupied the farm on Saturday to protest governments delay in allocating Chief Chiweshe suitable farming land.

The traditional leader declined to comment, arguing: You came here and chose not to talk to me first, you erred. I will not talk to you today, but if you come some other time, we will talk and I will tell you what is happening.

The chiefs aide said they had been made to wait for the past six years while government promised to allocate him a farm.
