FC Platinum’s opponents in the preliminary round of the Caf Champions League Green Mamba of Swaziland have shifted next Sunday’s match to Somhlolo Stadium.

Initial communication had been that the match would take place at the Trade Fair Grounds, but team spokesman Vusi Kunene told the Swazi Observer yesterday that the venue had been moved.

There had been uncertainty over the match venue and actual date, according to a report from the same paper.

Green Mamba will play Royal Leopard, who are playing in the Champions League, in a league match at the Mavuso Sports Centre at 6.30pm today.

Platinum are expected in Mbabane tomorrow and are also in the hunt for a final match this weekend to wind up their preparations. Club spokesman Phil Muwengwa said:

“We are still looking for a team to play this weekend and should be able to finalise on Wednesday (today)”

The 2011 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League runners-up have played two competitive matches in the last two weeks.
