A Harare housewife, Katie Cooper could not believe her luck on Saturday when she won the Irvines’ Chickens annual draw and drove away in a brand new Nissan NP200 truck.
This draw, dubbed the Christmas Grand Draw Cluck Promotion ran between November and December last year.
Irvines marketing manager Misi Mulauzusa promised a bigger competition end of this year.
“This was our first ever draw. We are promising a much better Chicken Cluck Draw in December. There were winners from around Zimbabwe with some from Bulawayo and Masvingo. It was a national promotion not just in Harare. And the car won was worth $18 000 from just buying a 2kg chicken worth $6,30,” said Mulauzusa.
An elated Cooper said: “I am so excited. I thank Irvines Chicken Cluck Draw. I can’t believe I won with a quarter chicken, this all really goes to my son because he is the one who put in the slip. He is the one with the luck.’’
Other winners walked away with refrigerators and stoves.
