Zifa expects to have a conclusive document on Asiagate by March that will effectively put to sleep the match-fixing scandal.

This was revealed last night after a Zifa board meeting which looked at various issues and preceded today’s general assembly meeting. Zifa president Cuthbert Dube received reports on Asiagate and the local Centralgate.

Said chief executive officer Jonathan Mashingaidze last night: “We resolved the natural course of justice should obtain in both cases in terms of hearings and sanctions where any are warranted.

“The Central Region issue had a preliminary report and should have a final report before the new season while the Justice Ebrahim committee should give a comprehensive and conclusive report by mid-March.

“On the 2012 Afcon qualifiers, coach Norman Mapeza will meet myself, the president Benedict Moyo and Elliot Kasu on Monday for the way forward, while the board also resolved appointments for other national teams should be conducted by next week after some submissions were made.

A tender will be floated for kit suppliers for all national teams and we hope to get the best deal for the teams.

“The constitutional review committee will start an outreach programme next week for all affiliates where 67 provisions of the constitution need to be looked at. We will also meet the Premier Soccer League separately.”
