The Caps United duo of Pride Tafirenyika and Marvel Samaneka were by last night still to get their travel documents, to travel with their team for a four-team invitational tournament set for South Africa this Sunday.

The club’s chief executive officer Maxwell Mironga confirmed a delegation of 30 members comprising of 20 players, seven technical members and three executive members will be leaving this evening.

He, however, said his club were still battling to secure passports for Tafirenyika and Samaneka. “The team is leaving Harare at 1900hrs and is expected to arrive in Polokwane on Saturday (tomorrow) morning. The players will rest the whole of Saturady (tomorrow.)

“We will play our first match against Sundowns on Sunday at 10am and then Black Leopards at 3pm. The passports of the two players expire at the end of the month so we have submitted them for renewal. We expect to get them tomorrow (today) morning,” said Mironga.

The tournament, which will feature hosts Sundowns, Black Leopards and Zambian champions Power Dynamos, has been reduced to practice games after the South African Premier Soccer League refused to sanction it citing an agreement between Caf and its affiliate federations not to stage any official matches while the Africa Cup of Nations is running.

The matches will now be played behind closed doors.
