Amateur golfers from around the country converge at Bulawayo Golf Club (BGC) tomorrow to participate in the Dugmore and Fellowship Cup annual competition which is expected to attract about 125 players.
BGC club manager Patrick Munanzvi yesterday confirmed that all was set for the competition.
We are having the Dugmore and Fellowship Cup this weekend. We are looking forward to having golfers from Bulawayo and other areas from around the country. The players for the Dugmore Cup will get points for the order of merit, he said.
The format of the competition is individual medal.
The golfers will play 36 holes tomorrow in the 0-9 handicap for the Dugmore Cup and play the remaining 36 holes on Sunday. The Fellowship Cup will see the golfers play 18 holes tomorrow and 18 on Sunday.
Expected in the Dugmore competition are Shepherd Huni (Harry Allen), junior golfer Jack Allard (BGC), Murray Osborne (BGC), Mike Madhodha (Roland Park), Clive Nguru (Chapman) and McDonald Tsungo from BGC.
BGC captain Murray Parsons and Matthew Williams also from BGC will participate in the Dugmore competition.
Benjamin Shoko, Brian Nyakutombwa, Amos Lungu, all from BGC, Amos Lungu (Hwange Golf Club), Victor Suerga (Hwange Golf Club) are the golfers who will feature in the Fellowship competition.
Eddie Ndlovu, Vincent Zibomvu and Russell Smith all from BGC are among the golfers who will partake in the Fellowship competition. Matthew Ncube was the winner of the Dugmore Cup last year.
