Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Arthur Mutambara is reportedly shuttling between Harare and Johannesburg weekly where his family is based, gobbling thousands of dollars monthly.

However, it could not be ascertained whether taxpayers are funding the numerous trips or the robotics professor is forking it out from his personal saving.

Mutambaras wife and two children are reportedly staying in the plush Sandton area in Johannesburg, and government sources said the DPM, who flies to Harare on Mondays and returns to South Africa on Fridays, could be chewing thousands of dollars in taxpayers funds.

Yesterday, Mutambara could neither deny nor confirm that he was literally commuting to work. He also refused to shed light on who was funding the trips.
