Zifa technical advisor Klaus Pagels has backed the Mighty Warriors to beat Botswana when the two teams meet in the Caf African Women Championship first leg qualifier in Gaborone on Saturday.

Speaking after watching the national women soccer team walloping a men’s team SR Villa 5-0 in a preparatory match at Rufaro Stadium on Saturday, Pagels said he is convinced the Rosemary Mugadza-coached side are capable of beating any African opposition.

“They are a very good team and playing good football. If they can keep doing the basics right, getting the ball and passing it to the next person I don’t think there is any African women team who can match them. They also need to have a good attitude going into matches,” said Pagels.

Rutendo Makore, Tsitsi Mairosi, Eunice Chibanda, Erina Jeke and Kudakwashe Bhasopo scored for the Mighty Warriors in the one-sided match.
