Amateur golfers from Bulawayo Golf Club (BGC) are expected to tee off in the monthly medal tournament tomorrow morning.
The competition is the first tournament in the calendar of events for the golf club.
BGC club manager Patrick Munanzvi yesterday said they were expecting many golfers to participate in the tournament as they kickstart their programme for the 2012 season.
“We are having our first competition of the year on Saturday (tomorrow).
“The tournament is open to members from Bulawayo Golf Club and we expect a huge turn-out. There will be the 0-9 handicap (Division A), 10-16, Division B (Handicap 10-16) and Division C (Handicap 17-24),” he said.
Peter Cavill, Todd Van Breda, Ray Mlotshwa and Mike Molloy are the golfers whom Munanzvi said had already confirmed would take part in the competition.
Eddie Ndlovu, former Highlanders chairman Rodger Muhlwa, Vincent Zibomvu and Chris Bannister were some of the golfers from BGC likely to participate.
“The golf course is in good condition because of the rains. The grass has been cut and the bunkers have been redone as well,” he said.

Munanzvi said they would also host the Dugmore and Fellowship Tournament — in the Zimbabwe National Amateur Golfers’ calendar — later this month.
