The Bulawayo Pool League is set to hold its annual general meeting (AGM) to elect new office bearers at Raylton Sports Club on January 14.

Outgoing publicity secretary Patrick Chinake yesterday confirmed preparations for the meeting had already started.

“We are having our AGM on January 14. There will be nominations and elections of new members in the executive. Those elected will then decide on when we are starting the league and other issues as well,” he said.

The meeting will see outgoing chairman Samson Bhuza making his report for 2011 and presentation of financial results as well as amendments to the constitution — if there will be need to.

The outgoing executive has vice-chairman Charles Mupatsi, secretary-general Charles Dube, treasurer Henry Chigumbura as well as referees’ chairman Joseph Mwanza.

Desire Guruve is the outgoing fixtures secretary while Sipho Nkala is the disciplinary committee chairman. By yesterday it was not clear which candidates had shown interest in contesting.

Kings were winners of the league with Raylton coming in as the runners-up.

Individual tournaments will also be played on the day. Chinake said the league will resume next February although dates were yet to be released.

The league has 16 teams at the top and eight teams in division one.
