The first Zifa transfer window of 2012 opened yesterday and will close in March when the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) begins.

Unlike in other countries where the window is open for a calendar month, Zifa has always extended it to the start of its own leagues and the PSL.

Four clubs — Dynamos, FC Platinum, Motor Action and Hwange — have already been on the market to register players for the 2012 Caf Champions League and Confederation Cup to beat the December 31 deadline. Activity though will heighten — like it always has — in March as player managers fight to get the best deals for their clients.

Immediately available on the market are 11 players offloaded by FC Platinum when they registered 26 players for their debut in the Champions League.

These are Bhekimpilo Ncube, Norman Maroto, Brighton Dube, Mernard Mupera, Ray Sibanda, Itai Gwandu, Mthulisi Maphosa, Alick Marime, Simon Njeleza, Nengomasha Muranganwa and William Manondo.
