The Veterinarians For Animal Welfare of Zimbabwe is seeking to have MDC-T councillor for Zengeza 3, Tineyi Kanyama, prosecuted on allegations of cruelty to animals following maltreatment of pigs he rears at Mabika Village in Seke.
For the past two months the pigs have allegedly gone without food, water and general cleanliness. Chief inspector Meryl Harrison said:
“Half a tonne of pig concentrate and some drugs were brought to treat the pigs at the village. A veterinary doctor only identified as Chipangure treated the pigs as some of them are alleged to have venereal diseases.”
