Five Mazowe villagers have been dragged to court for invading a farm owned by a Harare lawyer, Elasto Mugwandi, last month.

The five men are alleged to have invaded Shamwari Farm in Mt Hampden, where they reportedly allocated themselves portions of the land and erected structures without authority.

Langton Magora (39), Silas Seven Mangaza (55), James Machekano (44), Charles Nyagumbo (38) and Amos Tsikidzi Nyakupeta (56) were not asked to plead when they appeared before provincial magistrate Shane Kubonera yesterday, charged with criminal trespass, which is contravening Section 132 of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act. Their trial is expected to begin on December 21.
