Palestinian Ambassador to Zimbabwe Hashem Dajani on on Wednesday challenged the international community to step up efforts to bring peace between his country and Israel.
Dajani made the appeal during the International Day of Solidarity with Palestinian People in the city.
“Of all the issues and problems that have faced the international community, only the question of Palestine has not gained the implementation of the resolutions related to it, which confirms convictions that there is indeed a double standard when it comes to UN resolutions,” he said.
He said Palestine was ready to discuss final status issues once Israel proved its seriousness and commitment by honouring obligations in accordance with international law.
In a speech read on his behalf during the commemorations, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon called on both sides to develop serious proposals on borders and security.
