Helensvale Shopping Centre

The Helensvale shopping centre will come to life on Saturday when Burn Energy drink and Bohlingers lager will host a Burn Full moon music jam.

The event will see South Africa’s hottest hip-hop duo, Jozi performing. DJ Bridgette will spice up the event with her Funk-Electro and techno-inspired turntable tunes and DJ Jason Le Roux will select house music beats. Both musicians are from South Africa.

The event will see six local DJs, Naida, Nosh, Ray Dizzle, Rawse, Banks, and L-Roy battling it out on three different stages for Harare’s best DJ. The winner will walk away with $2 000. DJs Rax, T Bass and P Styles (Bass and Styles) will also take turns to entertain crowds while Big Brother Africa housemate Munya Chidzonga and Stunner will be the masters of ceremony.

Aquatic Complex

Dubbed the “Titanic Clash”, the Aquatic Complex Friday night hosts Alick “Extrabasso” Macheso and superstar Oliver “Tuku” Mtukudzi. They will be supported by growing dendera artist Tryson Chimbetu . Saturday night Macheso and Tryson perform at Magamba Hall, Warren Park, before they invade Mashonaland West with a show at Chegutu Arms on Sunday.

Megga 1 Bar Dendera maestro Sulumani Chimbetu partners Josphat Somanje for a show at Megga 1 Bar in Graniteside Friday night.

Hwenje’s Village The brand new venue at Glen Norah B is proving to be popular and Saturday hosts Sulumani Chimbetu supported by jazz outfit Too Open.

7 Arts Theatre Friday night there will be a Miss Harare junior modelling contest at the 7 Arts Theatre in Avondale. Sani Makhalima, Maskiri and Shinso are billed to perform at the beauty pageant which is being hosted by the Harare Junior Council. Harare’s best dance crews will also battle it out while DJs Selekta Base, Springer and Patch will be on the decks.

Fusion Café & Bar After being temporarily closed, the bar will re-open its doors to the public Friday night. There will be a launch party with DJs Dee Nosh, L Roy, Maxy, Carter and Phat Beatz playing music for revellers. The event which will be hosted by D&L in collaboration with Ace Ent has been dubbed “Tha Cum Back” party.

Keg and Maiden Located at the Harare Sports Club, the venue will present a “Miller Friday Party” tonight. During the event, a promotion will be run whereby revellers who will purchase a six-pack of Miller will stand a chance to win an iPod, BlackBerry, digital cameras, head phones or a monthly supply of a case of Miller for 12 months.

Club Amnesia After successfully hosting South Africa’s Teargas last weekend, the club will host DJ Cndo on Friday night. DJs Skeemo, Luz, Ren X will also back up Cndo on the decks. The event will be in collaboration with Chido Skeemo Shox’s birthday party and it will be a red and black event. Free Cndo mixtapes and T-shirts will be given away.

Eddy’s Kite (Chegutu) The bar will Saturday evening host Tendai and Morgan Dembo and the Barura Express. They will be backed by Romio Gasa and Extravalembe.

BULAWAYO Bulawayo Art Gallery This evening, the award winning gender-based violence play In The Continuum will be showcased starting from 5:30pm. If you miss it today, make a date on Saturday at the same time.

Tshabalala Youth Centre Victory-Siyanqoba Arts group present Iziko Theatre Laboratory Friday afternoon as from 1pm at the venue. Iyasa, Kwabatsha, Mountain Peak, Simunye-Simunye and Nkanyezi Arts and Culture Group will present plays to be critiqued by the audience.

Horizon Be part of the “Homecoming Show” Friday night featuring Slimzar Wa Afrika, Black Cee, B-Rock, Myr, Staffa and Keezy.

Sports 747 Friday night is the “Rhumba Night” featuring Exotic Dance Group. Saturday afternoon, Mendoza and Chris will be playing a mixed bag of music as from 3pm.

Hustlers There is a “Beer Festival” Friday night featuring DJs Mzoe, Max, Ray Jam and Tino. Saturday evening, the Super Six resident DJs will be taking turns to entertain revellers.

Jabula Inn (Esigodini) South African songstress, Patricia Majalisa is set to perform tomorrow evening. Also featuring will be dancing queen and singer, Sandra Ndebele as well as afro-jazz artiste, Jeys Marabini backed by Kozekulunge Band.
