A cappella music group, Iwisa have released their latest album entitled Ukuthula.

Group director Xolisani Ndlovu told NewsDay yesterday that their new album is a follow-up to their debut one, Thandanani released in 1999.

“The new album contains 13 tracks,” said Ndlovu. Tracks to look forward to on the album include Sisemaweni, which chronicles the journey they have travelled in music, Dance Around Together (an old song sung by children during play time) as well as the title track, Ukuthula, which urges Zimbabweans to desist from all forms of violence and live in peace. He said the group would also stage a performance at the Unity Gala to be held on December 10 at White City Stadium.

“Those who would like to see us live on stage should come to the gala,” he said.

Founded 20 years ago, the Nkulumane-based group took a long break when some of their members died while others left. Ndlovu said they had regrouped to continue with the group’s dream. They have previously toured the United States.
