There were no major surprises in the Cheetahs squad for the first two legs of the International Rugby Board World Sevens Series in Dubai and Port Elizabeth starting next Friday.

The Zimbabwe Sevens team which leaves the country on Sunday takes part in the Dubai Sevens before proceeding to the South Africa Sevens tournament in Port Elizabeth from December 9-10.

Skipper Jacques Leitao leads the team, which has experienced players like Tangai Nemadire, Daniel Hondo, Gerald Sibanda, Wes Mbanje and Fortune Chipendo.

Leitao will only take part in the Dubai tournament because of work commitments and will be replaced for the South African leg by Mike Morris with Hondo taking over the captaincy.

The Germany-based duo of Gardner Nechironga and Manase Sita — who both play top German club SC Neuenheim — were also named in the squad and they will link up with the rest of the team in Dubai.

The Zimbabwe squad has a mix of youth and experience with youngsters like England-based Justin Coles, speed merchant Tafadzwa Chitokwindo and Graham Kaulback also making the team.
