JOHANNESBURG — Emily Chiota, the wife of South African based Zimbabwean politician was yesterday reportedly fighting for her life at Johannesburg hospital after she was shot by her husband.

Justine Chiota, a Zimbabwe Peoples’ Party founding member shot his wife and then turned the gun on himself.

The mother of three was admitted shortly after the incident. Yesterday South African media had reported that she had been killed in the attack.

It is understood she went to his house, with a police officer, to collect her possessions.

She allegedly left her husband last Friday. Justine Chiota made headlines in 2007, when it emerged that he was driving a VIP presidential car in South Africa.
