The bail application for incarcerated MDC-T youth assembly president Solomon Madzore which was scheduled for on Wednesday, was postponed to Thursday after the State indicated it was not ready with its response.

Madzore was arrested last month for allegedly taking part in the murder of Inspector Petros Mutedza in Glen View in May this year.

Twenty-seven other MDC-T activists and officials have been arrested over the incident.

Most of the suspects have been granted bail, but Madzore and seven others are still in custody.

Madzore appeared before High Court Judge Justice Hlekani Mwayera, seeking bail, but State prosecutor Edmore Nyazamba said he was not ready with his response on whether or not to oppose the application, resulting in the case being postponed to Thursday.

The MDC-T youth leader was denied bail by the High Court on October 20 after he was deemed a flight risk because he had connections in the Diaspora.

The court decision sparked immediate demonstrations by party youths who had attended court in solidarity with their leader.
