Local producer Simbarashe Tagwirei aka Simba Tagz is set to tour various African countries in December to promote his latest and first commercially available single titled Stronger with Livestock Music, a recording label he is currently signed under.

Tagwirei is a young and vibrant local producer, singer and emcee who last year received a great response to his compilation titled The Business.

He also became popular for promoting upcoming local talent like all-female Ammunition and Class Kartel who did projects with Icandy Management Company.

“Although he was initially recognised for his talent as a producer, he has spent the last three years in front of the microphone honing his skills as a performing artist,” said Livestock Music chief executive officer Ngoni Takawira.

Takawira said with two mixtapes and several collaborative songs under his belt, Tagz was poised to take the African music industry by storm with his progressive sound.

He said with his upcoming release, Tagz was proving his ability to make internationally recognised music.

“His release of the corresponding video which will be shot in South Africa will be followed by a five-city regional tour stopping in Johannesburg, Harare, Lusaka, Windhoek and Gaborone,” said Takawira.

As a producer, Tagz has worked with a number of South African artists including heavyweights like Skwatta Kamp (on a song titled Hey, off their 2009 album Fair & Skwear), F-eezy, Reason, Zubz, Young Nations and Kabomo.

Taking a grassroots approach to his career, the musician has aligned himself with university associations and performed during orientation functions.

His music was frequently played in the 2011 Big Brother Africa house and now with the single Stronger gaining popularity, Tagz is proving his worth as an artist.

Takawira said Tagz was also preparing to release a full complete commercial debut project in 2012. “Stronger is about the conflict we all face when walking away from true love. The more we try to hide it, the stronger it becomes,” said Tagz.

He said he had another upcoming commercial offering is titled Pretty Special which is a mixture of different sounds and genres.

“To my fans, there is more to come and I’m here to make Zimbabweans proud,” said Tagz.
