After taking a recess last week, the race for a place in the Premier Soccer League reaches its climax on Sunday with five clubs in the Zifa Northern Region Division One League still in the hunt for promotion.

Harare City, DStv Rangers, Mwana Africa and Black Rhinos, will go into the battle on Sunday with an equal chance of taking the title while fifth-placed La Liga still feels they have a chance.

Log leaders Harare City on 48 points, are all but assured of going up, barring a freak result against Eiffel Flats at Dzivarasekwa.

DStv Rangers, just a point behind the City Fathers, will try to sneak past the log leaders when they host BEST Academy at Old Hararians.

Black Rhinos and Mwana Africa are tied on third position with 46 points. The army side will welcome Highfield United at their hunting ground One Commando Barracks while Mwana Africa will make the long trip from Bindura to meet Flame Lilly at ZRP Tomlison ground on the same day.

The two teams will be hoping to get maximum points and pray the leading pair of Harare City and DStv drop points. Fifth-placed La Liga on 45 points are mathematically still in it although they will need a miracle to steal the title ahead of leading teams.

The Naison Muchekela-coached side who led the log for the better part of the season will need to beat visiting ZPC Kariba squad and at the same time hope the four teams at the top collapse.

While these five teams are still fancying their chances to win the ticket to the Promised Land, it is Harare City who will go into battle on Sunday with the biggest chance of winning the ticket.

The Bigboy Mawiwi-coached side just need to win their match and their dream, which started four years ago, will come true.

Club chief administrator James Chitsa has said the task ahead looks attainable, but has warned his players against complacency.

With one foot into the Premiership, Harare City will only have themselves to curse if they fail to make it. At the other end of the table, Cossy Rules, Commando Bullets and Karoi United have already been confirmed as the three teams that will be playing in the unfashionable Division Two next season.

Zifa Northern Region Division One final week fixtures: Saturday: Commando v DC Academy (One Commando) Sunday: Flame Lilly v Mwana Africa (Tomlison), DStv v BACA (Old Hararians), Harare City v Eiffel Flats (Dzivarasekwa), La Liga v ZPC Kariba (Hellenics), Black Rhinos v Highfield United (One Commando), Karoi United v Cossy Rules (Chikangwe).
