Eastern Region Division One Football pacesetters Buffaloes need two wins to seal promotion into the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League after thumping ZRP Masvingo 3-0 at Sakubva on Sunday.

They will become the second team to do so after Southern Region Quelaton secured their ticket weeks ago. Battles are still on in the Northern and Central Regions.

The Mutare-based outfit has collected maximum points in 21 matches and drawn twice which brings its tally to 65 points.

Tailing them is Hippo Valley who have 53 points from the same number of games and also won 2-0 at home against Renco.

Buffaloes goalminder Chengetai Tandadzayi said: “We believe we have a competitive side which can challenge for promotion into the Premiership. Every team we are facing is giving us problems, but I am confident that nothing will stop us.”

‘‘Morale is very high in the team because if we manage to win our next two matches then we will be promoted,” he said.

Buffaloes got their goals through the boot of Prosper Matambanadzo in the first half and a goal each from Danai Chinowawa with Prince Mudawu putting the final nail in the coffin after the breather to seal a comfortable home win.
