ZHOMBE — Two Zhombe teenage brothers last month allegedly murdered a juvenile villager after accusing him of stealing money. They dumped his body in a bush to conceal the crime.

The incident allegedly occurred on September 28 in Chief Gwesela’s area in Zhombe.

It is alleged on the fateful day, the teenagers — whose identity cannot be disclosed on legal grounds — accused the 10-year-old boy of stealing $10 from their home.

They allegedly started assaulting him with sticks despite his plea of innocence. They later burnt his back with tyre fire.

The teenager allegedly succumbed to injuries sustained in the attack the following day.

Realising they had committed a serious crime, the accused loaded the juvenile’s body in a scotchcart and dumped it in a bushy area near Joel business centre.

The body was later discovered by a passerby Mulamuli Gwesela who reported the matter at Zhombe Police Station.

The following morning police tracked the scotchcart’s tyre tracks to the accused’s home, leading to their arrest.

The pair appeared before Gweru magistrate Miyo Rubwe yesterday facing a murder charge. They were remanded into parental custody to October 25. Mabasa prosecuted.
