Amateur golfers from Bulawayo converge at Harry Allen Golf Club to participate in the Women Unlimited four-ball better-ball Stableford competition on Saturday.

Harry Allen public relations manager Moses Mlalazi confirmed the tournament.

“We are having the Women Unlimited Golf tournament tomorrow (Friday). It is open to every amateur golfer including men. The funds have been sourced by a lady golfer, that is why it is called Women Unlimited competition,” he said.

“We have not played a four-ball better-ball competition since last month so we are expecting many golfers to come forward and take part in the competition. We hope that it will be a great success,” he said.

The tournament sponsors are ChaferFly, Edgars, Cattleman and Golden Familiar, with prizes expected to be pegged at about $400.

Rodnah Mutasa, Acy Zerf, Linda Rubaya and Lorraine Huwa are the women golfers set to feature in the tournament.

Mlalazi said Barbara Mahlangu, who has been out of action for a year, is expected to make a return to the golf field on Saturday.

Golfers expected from the hosts are Mlalazi, William Tshuma, Victor Tall, Oscar Mataruka, Chenge, Mufaro Chivonivoni and Harry Allen’s vice-captain Dumisani Ndlovu.

He said they are looking forward to having golfers who include Bulawayo Country Club’s Thabani Ndlovu, Francis Mangwendeza, Kenny Moyo as well as former Highlanders chairman Rodger Muhlwa from Bulawayo Golf Club.
